CYPRESS RIVER-MANITOBA-CANADA 1985 to 2001

ben attempts the drums, practices, and joins his father’s band at age 9. it’s good money, the nights are late, and the rooms smokey. all the practicing and gigging pays off - ben is asked to perform as a solo artist for a number of fesitvals, including dauphin country fest’s mainstage. when he isn’t traveling around manitoba, he helps out on his family’s hog and grain farm, eventually developing a hate for swine. at age 14 ben quits his father’s two bands to explore the world of hard rock and its therapeutic ways of releasing steam. he and a friend form the band “fetal pig”. a few years later they move to winnipeg to take over the scene.

WINNIPEG-MANITOBA-CANADA 2001 to PRESENT

fetal pig doesn’t take over the scene and the band dissolves. ben still plays other shows. then more and more shows. he backs up many different bands and artists but yearns to make his own music. he sometimes wakes up in the middle of the night yearning the bed. ben starts playing a guitar he acquires from his late uncle roland. he works as a house painter, a baker, a print shop estimator, a roofer, a contractor, and an audio engineer to get what he wants. six years of writing and recording come together on a self titled album in july of 2009. when all is said and done, ben’s written, composed, recorded, produced and designed his own album (with some help from a few skilled friends).
